How difficult is it to replace the rack and pinion on a 92 Honda acord.

 

For the experienced DIYer not too difficult but for a novice it will be challenging. If you can turn a wrench and follow instructions you'll be fine it will just take you longer to do.

 

You will also need line wrenches to undo the flared connections to the power steering rack. Do not use an open-ended wrench or adjustable wrench, because you will likely round off the fitting.

Ericthecarguy on youtube has a few videos on removing a power steering rack. I remember one for a 90's civic. Watch the videos to gauge if you want to try this DIY repair.
