Question Im Confused?

i have a 1997 Honda accord SE, it had been sitting for 5 months and today i jumped it off and drove it around and well, before i started it the DRL didn't work and the seat belt beeper didn't work, when i jumped it off the DRL worked and the seat belt beeped when i took off seat belt, but now neither don't work. why?

Were you having this problem 5 months ago when you stopped using it?

I thought DRL were only required for Canadian accords. Is your accord from Canada?

When you say DRL, do you mean the low beam lights? DRL usually means daytime running lights where the low beams are on all of the time.

OK, DRL was mandatory in Canada back in 1997, so you have them. When I had a 1998 (wrong generation but maybe similar) the Canada car had a different wiring harness for headlamps, but it WAS covered in the Helm shop manual.

There's a DRL module somewhere, maybe under the hood, which is probably a relay & a resistor pack. The high-beam lamps are used at a lower voltage.

I would treat the headlights and chime as two different problems right now.

That was my mistake about the DRL and low beams.

For the DRL (which is more important), I remember reading that the solder joints could go bad on the DRL control unit that is under the dash. The repair was the same procedure as a main fuel relay solder repair.

My dad and i might be able to fix that, i think there's a short somewhere because the other night after i started this, only 1 high beam works and now neither and when all lights off the DRL indicator comes on (in the manual that means there a problem somewhere) and the high beam indicator at the same time, plus i have seen an accord where the turn signal comes on in the corner/parking lamp, mine don't do that. All the bulbs work cause i have taken them out and put them into my moms Camry (9006 too) and the high beams worked.
