Interior light working, beeper sounding
Reading forums & got inspired to fix interior light not working when driver's door opens. Broken switch, repaired by replacing with passenger light switch. Now working but every time I open driver's door I get beeping sound. Is this normal? If so, is there a way to disable this?
Thanks

First of all, I was trying to learn whether it actually is the "you-forgot-your-keys" warning. If it's beeping when the keys are NOT in the ignition, you might be able to lubricate the lock cylinder.
Down in the bottom of the lock cylinder, is a button that gets pressed by the tip of the key. When you take the key out, that button might stick... Not sure what's the best thing for that, maybe some light oil (sewing-machine oil)?

Graphite is the ONLY thing that should be sprayed into ANY lock.
Light oil will attract dirt and clog up the workings of a lock, do not use it.
Yes it may help at first but will cause worse problems down the road.

Yeah, Crispin is probably right, but dry graphite won't free a stuck mechanism.
I've seen graphite in a suspension in isopropanol. That should get it in to loosen up the pin, then the isopropanol evaporates leaving dry graphite behind.

That's what I was thinking too. The wiring diagram shows a fuse that I might be able to pull. I shall look at that in the daylight tomorrow.
I found out that JimBlake was right; the problem was with the "you-forgot-your-keys" warning. There are two clusters of wires coming from the ignition assembly, one with some heavy-gauge wires and the other with a smaller quantity of lighter-gauge wires. I disconnected the latter group and the beeping stopped. This cluster had the following wires: white/yellow, white/blue, white/red, blue/white, and black. I then consulted the wiring diagram and found that the blue/white was connected to the troublesome switch. (The wiring diagram showed the blue/white was also wired and fused with the ignition key light - which in this model has not been fitted). I cut blue/white, reconnected to the harness, and that was it. Done.
