Question Maint. Recomendations

Hi there, My accord is approaching 200k. Never had the valve cover off..had the timing belt replaced once,,about 10 yrs ago..valve cover leaks a little so ill be replacing that. Is the valve train adjustable?? If so how do you set the valves? It has the original cap and wires on it,,so those will be replaced...
Do i get original or parts store replacements?? I cant remember last time i changed the fuel filter so that will be done as well..Trans has been replaced with a new one about 3 yrs ago...any help is much appreciated...

The original wires seem to last forever on those cars. Inspect the wires for any cracked rubber insulation, because they may still be good.

Get an OEM cap and rotor. OEM spark plug wires if you decide to replace them (or NGK wires).

You can adjust the valve clearance, but I'd say it is not for the novice. It is not difficult, but you do not want to over-tighten the valves. I copied a video below for your exact engine. The engine has to be cold to do the adjustment. You will need feeler gauges to measure/set the clearance between the valve and the rocker arm.

If it's really been 10 years for the timing belt, I would have that taken care of.
