Default Malfunction Indicator Lamp, P0455 code

Hello all. I have a 2009 Accord LX 4 Dr. Sedan, 4 Cyl. 2.4L with 43K miles on it. About a month ago, I got a "check fuel cap" message on the display. So I did, thinking it was loose or something. Tightened it up and later in the day the message disappeared. A couple days ago, the message reappeared, but went away later on in the day by itself. THEN, this morning, the "malfunction indicator lamp" came on, it looks like a picture of the engine. So, I took it to Autozone to get the code and it came up as a "P0455" error code. Guy at autozone said it was a "system large leak detected" code, which could be a faulty gas cap. I am looking for advice. Anyone have any clue what this could be? Should I take it to the dealer? HELP PLEASE!!

I haven't heard of any common emission problems on the 8th generation Accords. It probably is the fuel cap. If it is something else, then you may want to have the dealer check it out. If it is a problem with what is deemed a major emission component, then you should still be covered under the Federal emission warranty. If the car is a California vehicle, then the emission warranty is even longer.
