Default Malfunction on Left turn signal(Updated)

Hi guys,
I've searched in various forums plus this one as well yet I can't seem to find a right answer for this problem.
I have 2003 Accord with a problem with left turn signal only. Right turn signal is working fine.Left turn signal won't light on the cluster paneleither.
No click/ticking sound can be heard for left turn. A hazard light for left one is not working either. But I do get light on front left turn signal bulb when I turn on either parking or headlight.
Upon my observation, this is notcaused by badbulbs or fuses(there is no fuse for signal lamp).
Could this be a problem from a turn signal switch or flasher relay?
Where/How to removethe flasher relay?
If I need to replace any of those parts, can I find them in local pepboys or autozone?
I appreciate any advice or helpon this issue.
Thanks in advance.

******HERE IS UPDATE*****

Someone from AskYahoo(seems like Honda mechanics) suggested to check ground wire from each connector. He thinks one of ground wire might have got shorted because left signal indicator on instrument gauge doesn't work. He suggested me to check both front and back. I was able to checked rear side where all grounds wires from lights were attached behind the rear bumper. Everything seems connected, and there was no sign of burn-out.

I couldn't check the front side because it was such a small space to dig around. But I am confident that ground wire for front side is ok because I get light on front left signal lamp when I turn on the parking light. (Front left signal sockets were consisted with two red/one black)

I was able to locate a flasher relay to make sure there is no sign of burned out resistor or anything. I had hard time to remove lower dash panel. After couple hours of struggle, I was able to remove and check the flash. I removed cover of flasher relay, and I didn't see any sign of burned or short circuit. I couldn't find how to check/diagnosis this type of flasher relay.

After search through various forums for any honda vehicle, I read "Hazard Switch" may cause a faulty turn signal. Does anyone have any idea if this statement is valid?

Default RE: Malfunction on Left turn signal(Updated)

After numerous posting and investigation regarding to malfunction of left turn signal, an issue was resolved by simple replacement of Flasher Relay(38300-SDA-A03).
I purchased the part from local Honda dealer at $18.07. I tried NAPA, Autozone, and Pepboys but no one had a part except Honda dealership.
Hope this help other Accord owners.

Default Thank you Polaris80! Your solution worked

After much (conflicting) internet research on how to fix a left turn signal that wouldn't work - even though the right one would - I stumbled across Polaris' response. I appreciate his coming back and updating his initial question - most people didn't do that...so you never knew which of this suggested fixes worked or didn't.

I thought it was interesting that the posts I could find on a malfunctioning turn signal for a 2003 Honda Accord all had the LEFT SIDE not working.....no one wrote about the passenger side.....sounds to me like Honda had a malfunctioning relay throughout (at least some of) their fleet.

Here is what I found:
*My left turn signal did not work - the right however did.
*When using the hazards, the left also did not work - the right did.
*My front (shared) turn signal light worked when the running lights were on...however, with the dual filiment, the signal could be down, even though the running light worked.
*As I understand it, if one of the lights in the turn signal/flasher grouping is burnt, the rest of the lights in that grouping will not work...so I checked all bulbs, by swapping left & right turn signal lights in trunk (as they are easy to get to).
*After confirming that all the bulbs that I could test worked, I had a choice of either trying to "test-out" for an unlikely fault/short, or assume it was the turn signal relay (as Polaris80 suggested).
*The two Honda dealers in the area did not stock the turn signal relay - you need your VIN number to know which of two different parts might be needed. Their price was ~$30, with a two day delivery promised. None of the parts houses in my area stocked it either - however, AutoZone could get me one the next day, for $13....guess which one I choose!?!

The long and short of it is this......I would suggest first testing the rear bulbs; see if the front one lights with your running lights; then assume it is your turn signal relay. Getting to the relay, which is under the dash by the fuse box is the hardest part....actually getting the old relay to release from the receptor was the most difficult of anything. Once the new part was in, it was a two minute install, test, and reassemble. It sure beat the heck out of a $100 visit to the dealer...and then the $30 part on top of it!

Thanks again Polaris80 for your insights and follow-up!

NOTE: I am NOT a mechanic, so they may be a better/faster way - but i found this worked perfectly for me. Good Luck all!

How did you manage to get to the switch under the dashboard. I'm having the same problem with the left turn signal but for the life of me I cannot get the dashboard off to get to the switch. I can only get one hand in there and can't figure out how to get the switch out to replace it. Argh. So frustrating.

Default No need to take off the dashboard

I am travelling, so I can't look at the vehicle to describe it - therefore, this is out of memory...and I'm getting old - but here it goes.

You do NOT have to take the dashboard off, what you do have to do is crawl under the dash, inverted, with your feet over the back of the driver's seat to get to the switch. As I recall, the switch is attached to the firewall of the driver's side front fender. There were two difficulties in "getting the old switch out". First, being limber enough to even get to the thing, and second, because of the number of pins that the switch had, it is "in there pretty good"....so you have to slowly - but firmly - rock the switch back and forth, until it finally comes free. I remember that was the hardest part - being surprised at how long it took to "rock" the old switch off. I kept looking for a "catch" or "clip" - but it was simply held in by friction of those many pins - I had to man-handle that switch more than I first thought I would have had to, and I was afraid I might be breaking it. It wasn't "hard" as it strength, but "hard" in I thought it would be more delicate of an extraction....I kept thinking "am I breaking the darn thing?"

I hope I described it correctly. Let me know if I can provide any other clues.

Good luck!

Thank you, as I had the same issue today, only the passenger side turn signals worked.
I'll be getting a relay from Autozone tomorrow.

Turn signal on Honda Accord 2005 passenger side front does not work only when the headlight is on, but works and flashes much faster when in either in right turn signal only and when the park light is on. Replaced both front and rear bulbs for the turn signals still same problem. Does any body have an idea. Thanks...

Whenever I see several things that shouldn't really be related, I think about bad grounds. Look for ground wires screwed to the sheet metal somewhere around the turn signals. Check for loose/dirty/corroded connections.
