Monitoring systems gone haywire
I have a 2018 Accord sport 1.5 turbo with 71,000 miles. In the last week when starting in the morning the motor would run rough for a few seconds then ok. This happened 3 times. Today I decided to change the oil, oil filter, intake filter and cabin filter. Went to the parts store to drop off the used oil. About a half a block the car lost power and the engine light came on intermittently when I tried to speed up.
When I got home checked it with a obd lol code reader and came up with a P0301 code #1 cylinder misfiring. Checked around the engine to see if I disturbed anything while I wiped the dust off of the engine. Didn’t see anything suspicious so I tried to clear the code to see if it would come back. Couldn’t figure out how to turn the ignition on without starting the engine.
Then everything went haywire. Messages on the speedometer cluster, key fob battery low, TPMs system into, lane departure system, abs system, just about everything not working. Checked battery 12.65 volts, 14.50 running. I replaced the battery about a year ago with an Interstate battery from Costco. When the battery died I had miscellaneous check lights but it was different from this time.
Any suggestions on what could be going on would be appreciated.
I plan on replacing the spark plugs and checking the coils. If anyone has any information on coil resistance.
Thanks, Dan

A bad/shorted coil can still test good by resitance. A quick test is to switch the #1 and say #2 coil. If the code turns to a P0302, then you pretty much identified the coil as the issue.
For the other lights, a lot of items could cause that behavior. Best to check for codes again to give you some sort of direction for troubleshooting.
