So I bought a cheap hydraulic trolley jack and a pair of jack stands today, anticipating an oil change…
I’ve got a 2008 Accord Coupe, Honda recommends jacking the front of the car using the raised circular spot near the front of the car and placing the jack-stands on the thick spot welds, which is easy enough, except it seems my trolley jacks lifting pad is too small for that raised circular spot… it seems like it wants to slide off and when I get it lifted a decent amount the lifting pad starts to move and slide and quite frankly I don’t trust it one bit.
I’ve tried multiple different spots and positions and it doesn’t matter what I do, as soon as I reach a certain height the lifting pad starts to move on me. I’ve attached a pic so hopefully you guys can see what I’m talking about.
Do floor jacks typically have larger lifting pads that would mitigate this issue? Would my best bet be returning the trolley jack and getting a floor jack? Any alternative spots I can lift the front of the car with and then place the jack stands?
Thanks for the help

Reason: Title error
I did end up getting ramps actually, the same ones. I’ll keep the jack and stands for when I need to do brakes, but I agree, using the ramps is 10x easier for oil changes.
I also bought one of those Fumoto drain plugs to make things as easy as possible, works great.
