Default Need help with the trunk

Hi everyone, sorry for the dumb question (yes, first post). Hopefully you all can help me out.
I just picked up a 2017 EX. I didn't test every single switch when I picked it up (my fault) and it's just out of warranty. Dealer has said they won't include it as good will, even though I've been taking my Ody there for years...
Problem is with my trunk. My latch works next to the drivers seat but neither of the fobs work and neither does the button on the lid of the trunk. When I push the button on the trunk, I get no sound. When I push the key fob button, I get a red light on the fob but no sound from the car. I've tried doors locked and unlocked and with the vallet switch in both positions. I thought it would be a bad latch so I went and bought a new one off amazon but I still get the same symptoms.
Anyone have any ideas? Really don't want to take this to Honda and have them find something is just unplugged...

Sounds like an actuator motor isn't working like it should. It might be something as simple as it's unplugged, or the motor itself is kaput.

Thanks for getting back to me toecutter. Sorry it took me so long to reply as I've been working ~80 hours this week. I replaced the actuator motor (

) and it still doesn't work. Any ideas?

Is the motor getting power (meaning working off the car)? If not, then you'll have to look further ahead of it, usually in the rear door post is a connection, that may have a broken wire.Or you can ohm meter out the wires to make sure they're good. It'll also allow you to see if you have power up to that point. I only say that, because if you don't, you'll have to look further forward like under the dash area. Other than that I'm out of ideas. Maybe a bad switch?
