Default Need some suggestions on headlight upgrade

Basically, my 2003 headlights aren't emitting enough light for night time driving. I work overnights and I have a 30-40 minute commute to work. I want to upgrade the headlights but I don't know if I want HIDs or Sylvania bulbs. this is pretty much my everyday car and I have no experience with either set up.

Can someone share their experience with either one? I'm looking to change them tomorrow. I have a lot of auto stores around me aswell as audio/visual shops that would charge me somewhere around $100 to install HIDs.

I thank you guys in advanced for any responses.

HIDs will definitely give you the best output, and $100 installed is not a terrible price. You do have to be careful with them because your factory housings are not intended to use HIDs so the output can be too much and blind oncoming drivers.

The higher end sylvanias will give you a better output, but they can get costly and their life is not nearly that of HIDs. For the record for parts the sylvania bulbs cost about the same as an HID kit.

I have run both, right now I have sylvanias in my car because my ignitor for my HIDs went out after 3 or 4 years and I never got around to ordering a new one.

If you do get HIDs get 35w not 55w. The 55w will definitely blind oncoming drivers.

Oh and don't believe all the hype about HIDs melting your headlight housings.
