My son and I just acquired a 2002 EX V6 coup with a blown motor. Local dealer supposedly did oil change with out putting in oil about 3 years ago. They "fixed" fixed the old motor and owner (older lady) drove it for 3 years until last month. Now the Crank is jumping around.

Do the lower end of these motors rebuil easily, or should I replace the engine with a "recycled" one.

Is it better to pull the engine from the top, or drop it out of the bottom?

Thanks for any insite.

The factory assy line stuffs the motor&trans in from the bottom.
I would suggest dropping off the oil pan and inspect the main bearings and check for crank damage before making the rebuild/replace decision.
Questions like this will get a better response if you post in general tech questions.
