Hooked up the battery to the starter, hooked up a bump button to spin it over (curious about 1,3,5 compression) and starter just spins. Not engaging.. arrggg

While it is true I've never even seen a 2.7 liter V6 mill, I was kinda-sorta under the impression both the engine and the transmission were pretty much made of aluminum (i.e. heads, block, tranny case), I cannot figure out how that could be so heavy a cherry picker would have an issue with it. That said, the last time I pulled a motor with a cherry picker was when good-old American iron was used to make V8 engines, so maybe the cherry pickers of that era were more robust.

I think it was leaking from the distributor

You might run into some problems because a 97 is obd2 and 95 is obd1. Likely the distributor will have different wiring.

But not too many people ever messed with the v6 accords(I know I didn't) so there isn't too much knowledge out there about it.

Check the OBD-1 thing because I'm not certain. I remember the Accord V-6 being one of the very few cars that complied with OBD-2 a year early.

Ok so I ran a better compression test, cold and wot
Here are the numbers
1 - 140
3 - 90
5 - 135
2 - 140
4 - 130
6 - 135

I'm thinking since the newer engine is a 95 , I may just go ahead and do a top end rebuild on mine.( A lot cheaper) Maybe I can get 500k miles out of this car.

Thoughts?

The 95 V6 was OBD2, so the engine is identical to your 97.

Are those compression numbers above from the 97 or 95 engine?
