No solid yellow wire!!!
Im a pro trike builder and have begun useing FWDonors instead VW donors. http://bettertrikes.yolasite.com/hon...or-project.php
Iv really enjoyed working with a 1994 Accord.. Its much more complex then the VWs but the result is MUCH better! Excellent ride and ultra smooth.
I have a couple of isues to deal with. The first is getting power to the gage cluster.. Iv looked over the wireing diagrams a thousand times that show a solid yellow wire powering the gage cluster.. but no solid yellow or any power getting to the cluster..
All I can figure is that Iv removed something not shown in the diagrams.
btw,,, this wont be the last time Ill use a Honda as a donor for another project. I LIKE them!

I think the yellow wire originates from the ignition switch being in the II position. I have to look at my shop manual.
If you don't have one, the common diy thread on top of the gen tech help section has a link to the online shop manuals thread. The honda-tech link has a 94 shop manual you can download.

I have the manual from Hondahookup... Ill check the other manuals to see if there is a difference..
Im the guy that eveyone come to for VW and trike building advise. Finding someone local that is into Hondas like Im into VWs would be fantastic.. (Im in Tampa)
I was told the engine would not run without the gage cluster... poor advise there...
Im hopeing to move the cluster up front so it can be used... I was going to set it up in the trunk with a back up camera and the screen in front of the driver... Iv rethought that idea... Extending the many wires will be better, Im sure. TROY
btw,, thanks for the badly needed help

Also starting in 1998 they had immobilizers. You need the key cylinder and the RFID antenna that picks up a chip in the factory key, otherwise it won't run.
Tampa and south FL are the biggest honda area's in the state for street racing and modifying Hondas. I don’t see why you would have a hard time finding anyone is your area.
Thanks again, guys.
This is the same diagram Im useing..(I havnt found another version)
and thats the problem Im haveing ...It shows the solid yellow wire going to the underdash fuse block and then still solid yellow to the gage cluster.. On my car there is NO solid yellow wire anywhere going into the gage cluster... and No power to any post in the connector.
I may just have to use normal afermarket gages wired to the Honda senders.
Will keep looking.. Iv removed a huge amount of sub wireing and relays and such.
To be honest, the Honda wireing, while looking way difficult at first, is really fairly simple.
Iv logged onto Tampa Raceing and finding out where the local meets and events are.. I may just get a little bit of attention rideing my Accord to a tuner event. LOL
Cool and unusual machines are often like a secrete handshake.. Im sure that will be a good way to meet the right gearheads..
Ill post more of this build soon... TROY

So what color wire is attached to pin A-5 in the cluster's wiring plug?? The wire colors are only talking about what color they are in the car's wiring harness. That picture doesn't even deal with wire colors within the cluster assembly.
