All states have various laws concerning the tint. Here in Texas, tint shops must adhere to the law and will not appy darker than legal,period! A sticker is applied to the drivers side window showing who did the tint and that it adheres to the law. Surely bonafide tint shops there will only apply the legal limit.

In this state tint is a MUST! The A/C is on for the majority of the year and the sun is relentless. I've no problem seeing at night and I'm an old fart!!!!!! Not to mention that the tint protects from practically all angles whereas the rear shade only protects when the sun is behind you. Just a thought................

Thank you for the information. I hear you about the need for tinting and air conditioning certain climes. I'm an old fart Swede. I've spent part of each of my last few years in Sweden and Norway, part of it in the Northeast US, and part of it in Mexico. I seem to manage to spend the coldest part of the year in the coldest climes and the hottest part of the year in the hottest climes. I've never been very bright about arranging my life to suit my own convenience.
