Search around here for how to "bench-bleed" the new master cylinder. If you don't do that, you can bleed & bleed for a lot of fluid before getting the last air bubbles out of the master.

Yup, and then you can also gravity bleed the 4 corners before you get your helper to help you finish bleed. Or, you could try pressure bleeding, but I'm not sure whether you'll find an adapter cap to fit the res.

Default What a pain!

Ok r/r master cylinder and that was the easy part bench bled the master that eras easy too!! I've bled and bled and bled that thing 4 times with a helper. Still spongey!! So being 2017 now thought I would approach from a different angle! Here is what I did, because I've run so much brake fluid through without successfully getting all the air out and no external leakage. I pulled all 4 calipers, pushed the Pistons all the way in on the front, and cranked the rear ones all the way in on the back with bleeders closed! I was surprised how clean the fluid was, but at this point the brakes are back to at least 90% of what they were before the master went out!! Thanks for all of the help!!! Glad that's over with!! Everyone have a great 2017!!
