Default Oil change

Sweet - I just got one of the Haynes manuals for the 03-05 Accord. Am going to change my oil, air filter and interior ventilation filter this weekend.

What oil do you guys recommend? I used Chevron Supreme for my previous Civic, but it turns out that they don't make 5w-20. So I'm shopping for a new oil. What is better - Pennzoil/ Quaker State/ Valvoline/ etc.?

Thanks!

There are no bad oils. There are two dino oils that are heads above the rest though.......Havoline & Motorcraft. The second is a synthetic blend, both will easily go 5-6K.

Castrol SYNTEC 5w-30, K&N Oil filter, change EVERY 3,000 MILES!!! Never go over 3500 because Accord oil is black as night already at 3000.

Actually color has nothing to do with how an oil is protecting an engine. Changing any oil at 3000 miles is an absolute waste of money, time, and oil. Syntec is a good oil but not a true synthetic. For those that care to learn go here: http://theoildrop.server101.com/ubb/...?ubb=forum;f=1 . The site is huge and has facts, not what Dad told you about when to change oil.
