Oil change
#3
Regular oil and filter changes keep a car alive for a very long time. You can pick any brand name oil and filter you like, just pick them and then stick with them. Buy the grade recommended for your engine. I used to use Penzoil all the time, but now days I use Mobile-1 Synthetic and a Mobile-1 filter too. As for oil change interval you should be able to find it in your owner's manual. I use BlackStone, an oil analysis outfit, to test my oil and they have me on a 7,500 mile change cycle. It really depends on the condition of your engine, how you drive, what the road conditions are like where you drive. Lots of things matter and the only way to really know how often you need to change your oil it to test a few times.

Generally, the reason we need to know the year, model, etc., is that different year Accords may state different things in their respective year owner's manual, and sometimes Honda will revise what they recommend outside of the owner's manual (rarely).
I believe, relative to Accords, the Maintenance Minder was introduced in the 2006 Accord and carries on to current Accords. As such, the owner's manual for these model years doesn't state a specific mileage to change it.

depending on year, see owners manual, stated viscosity is probably 5W-30 (or 5W-20 ? - google it maybe).
Any brand oil is fine, its simpler to stick with one ...
Many owners (meaning me, too) change oil @ 3500 miles, but longer to 2X seems to not hurt them (based on comments only).

For the 2008-2010 Accords, the recommend engine oil is 5W-20 (Honda says displaying the API Certification Seal ). -- This would cover your 2009 Accord.
The car has a Maintenance Minder indicating calculated engine oil life. Keep in mind, the oil life is calculated based on engine operating conditions, etc.; it does not actually analyze the oil quality or the level.
Generally, you will hear some people say to change it when it reach 15% oil life. With the exception of the first oil change (there is molybdenum in the engine to help during engine break-in), I personally would not go all the way to 15%. You can and may not experience any problems; however, there have been many people with stretched cam chains with the 4 cylinders due to infrequent oil changes or low oil levels. -- The 2003-2007 (7th generation) Accord 4 cylinders engines are relatively similar to the 2008-2012 (8th generation) Accord 4 cylinders (they are K24 engines with timing chains); and there have been a bunch of 7th generation Accord owners who had stretched chains.
So, in between frequent oil changes, always check your oil levels regularly.
For 2011-2012 Accords, 0W-20 is the recommended viscosity.
