oil drain plug bolt size
so the other day while i was working on my car one of the things i was doing was changing the oil. when i tried to get the drain bolt off with my 3/8 17mm ratchet it wouldn't budge. i tried different angles and while doing that it slipped twice. so i stopped and found my 17mm flare nut crow foot and tried that then that slipped. thats when i realized i stripped the bolt. i need to know the bolt size so i can get a new one. im trying to avoid getting a honda part and spending a bunch of money but if it come to that i will. also do you guys know any tricks that i could use to get it off? i do have a damaged bolt remover kit.
Suggest a good set of vise grips and tapping firmly on wrench w/ hammer to break bolt loose.
Someone overtightened originally, or you wouldn't have had the difficulty w/ 3/8" ratchet. I usually use a 1/2" ratchet w/ 1/2x3/8 reducer to socket to gain a little more leverage, or use a breaker bar.
good luck
