Default Oil leak!

92 accord lx. ive got an oil leak but im not sure where its coming from. its leaking right at the timing cover and where the block and head meet, also where inbetween the harmonic balancer and the oil pan. i think its a crank seal but im not sure. it could be a head gasket, oil pump seal, oil pump housing seal (if housing its the pump seal also). im not sure if the housing has a seal. i really need some help cuz my car is out of commision and i need to get back and forth to work but i have no other car. any thing will help ill be working on it today so ill figure it one way or the other. its 1035 am where im at. ill be gone so i cant look at the forum till i get back. if i dont have it fixed by then i hope you guys can help. thanks

sincerly,JOE.

yep sounds like the crank and cam seals need replacing. time for a timing belt change......even if it has been done recently that oil will deteriorate that belt much faster.

Could be a number of things: Valve cover gasket, cam seal, balancer shaft seal, crank seal, or oil pump gasket.

ok it took 2 days for me to fix it all. the valve cover gasket was replaced about 5 months ago so i knew it wasent that. indeed it was the cam seal, it was in like 4 pieces. i went ahead and replaced the crank seal and oil pump seal just incase, the oil pump seal was a little hard so it needed it anyway. other than that i drove it about 40 miles yesterday and no leaks or any problems.

ive got the balancer shaft seal in my car (new one) it looked really good actually. i left the timing covers off so i can keep an eye on the seals. so if it starts to leak i can rplace it no prob.

woo 92,,,,,you are driving with t-belt covres off ?? for your sake i hope nothing will fly into the t-belt while driving ,, you could be in deep trouble if it were to happen

if balancer shft seal it totally dry and you do not want to replace it,, install the balancer shaft seal retainer and put those t-belt covers bak on ASAP..
