Oil Pan Gasket?

Oil Pan Gasket?
I removed the oil pan on my 2001 accord LX 2.3L F23A1 to rectify a leak. The existing pan had no gasket it was all Hondabond from the factory. I called the dealer and they said that was correct, no gasket just hondabond. My questions are: 1. how much do I use and do I put it on the pan and the block or just the pan? 2. Do I let it skin over first before attaching it? 3. What is the correct bolt tightening sequence? I know the correct torque value is 10 ft/lbs and I cleaned both mating sufaces spotless.

I don't remember (sold that Helm book after I sold that car...)
But look in the DIY section for a thread about manuals. Should be a link to spooner or something like that. I vaguely remember the 98-02 manual was an ISO file so you have to burn it to a CD before you can read it.
Permatex Ultra-Grey works as good substitute for HondaBond.

Yes the manual is an ISO file that will need to be burned to disk....
I've never been good a making a gasket with sealant, they do offer a rubber molded oil pan gasket for your car, aftermarket Fel-Pro (AZ for $22?). I've always used sealant to "hold" a gasket in place or a little help in tough areas...corners of valve covers, ect.
