Oil Pressure Indicator Light Issue
Sometimes it's due to low RPM especially when you first stop.
Try going through the "base-idle" setting & the process of forcing the PCM to "re-learn" the idle.

The mechanic wanted to try a thicker engine oil. So, he went with conventional oil 10W/30. No engine oil light flicker at idle around town and short drives. BUT, on a longer, freeway speeds, trip the light will eventually start flickering at idle. I guess that the engine clearances in this older car aren't as tight as with a newer car. So, I guess nothing to do but ignore it as long as the light only flickers as I have described here ?
Please have the oil pressure checked. All thicker oil will do it put a band aid on the issue. If you have low oil pressure it is going to be a bad oil pump or worn out rod or main bearing or both. Oil pressure lowers when the engine warms up. I have seen people put really thick oil in a car with low oil pressure to trade it in at the dealership.
