Default Oil Pressure Sending Unit Installation

I tried to replace my oil pressure sending unit, since it is leaking oil. Took off the oil filter to get better access.

I felt around the sending unit, but there is hard coolant pipe covering the bottom of the bolt. Can I get a socket in there?

If anybody has done this before, how did you get gain access to the sending unit? Will I have to take off the intake?

you should be able to get a socket or a wrench on the bolt, I've never done the repair job myself though so I'm not going to be that much help... sorry

24mm deep socket should work on the unit, not sure what you are talking about as far as coolant pipe? Nothing other than the sending unit itself has to be taken loose. No need to be top secret about the year and model you have, no one here will laugh at you.

The pipe I am talking about is coming out of the water pump runs horizontal across the engine and looks like it feeds the intake.

The sending unit is far above the oil filter. I put a jpg from my manual to show the setup on my car.

oops, my bad; yes the 24mm 6 point deepwell socket will work, nothing else needs to come off.

Oops, I forgot to post my results. This was pretty simple to do. That pipe I was worried about was not in the way. The only thing that I did was remove the oil filter to get a better view up there and to give me more clearance for my wrench.

When I originally was feeling around up there, I didn't have a good light and was nervous that there wasn't enough room for a socket. I was wrong.

Probably the easiest repair I have done on my car. I wish that all repairs were like this!
