Default Oil on Spark Plugs

My check engine lights been on for a week, ran fine still.. today though, idles rough, seems like it's gonne die.. even while at high speed, and smoked a little.

I made it to AutoZone and the guy there and I could not find the plug to hook up his computer thing, so I bought spark plugs to see if they'd maybe help..

Replaced em, and in the process noticed they were all soaked in oil.. so there's oil getting in there somehow..

Any suggestions? lol

oil on the spark plugs is probably the spark plug seals leaking. You will have to take the valve cover off to replace them. I think they come with the valve cover gasket from the parts store. once you take the valve cover off, replace the valve cover gasket and the spark plug seals and your good to go! Make sure you dont over torque the valve cover nuts!

It could also be the lower rocker arm seals,, but i do agree to do the upper seals first ,a lot easier to do

How many seals are there to check? lol

So do this order, Valve Cover Gasket/Spark Plug Seals, and then do the Lower Rocker Arm Seals if needed?

correct.....replace the top seals first, make sure to clean all the oil from the tubes.. after a week or two, recheck to see if there is any oil back in there , if there is ,, you got to replace the lower seals.........Our DIY section has the HOW TO..

if no more oil .. it is fixed ,,
