Default oil in strange place

I was giving the car a tune up over the weekend, when I pulled off the cap there was oil around a small part of one end of the cap around the edge. after further inspection there was none inside the distributoror oranywhere else. where did this oil come from and is it something to worry about?

nowhere...it was on the curved end of the cap on maybe a 2 inch section around the edge, nothing inside the distributor or anywhere else on the cap or rotor.

My best guess: seeping through camshaft seal into distributor

I checked allof the seals around the dist. and camshaft everything looks ok aside from a little bit of grime.
