That's really good news, thank you - so the garage didn't make a mistake when saying they'd charge just $80 for swapping the pan )) Not sure if it's considered cheap in the US but that's the cheapest I could find here in London. The part seems to be called flywheel cover and doesn't look so massive in the following diagram, that's why I didn't recognize it:

The $80 seems a fair price. There is a "how to" for the 90-97 Accords on here - search for it. Yours is a bit different but not by much.

Thank you I'll check it out just in case: apart from the uncertainty wrt this flywheel cover it all seemed straightforward when we looked at it at the garage... remove the front exhaust section first, remove the old pan, put the new one in using a gasket maker, re-install the exhaust section back.

Yeah that'd be a sin not to change the oil, the colour of which is almost black.

Other than this leaking oil pan the car looks great and even has just passed the MOT ) It's incredible such cars are so cheap just because they're not longer in fashion not because of some real issues or wear & tear that's normal for their age.
