No, but I do have THIS from my shop foreman about how people can know so much about my car.

WOW, THAT SEEMS REALLY WEIRD…MAKES ME WONDER IF THERE ARE ANY VIOLATIONS OF THE PRIVACY ACT WITH THIS GUY AND HOW HE GETS HIS INFORMATION. NONE THE LESS, DO YOU REMEMBER HOW MANY MILES WERE ON IT WHEN YOU BOUGHT IT? I HAVE HISTORY STARTING AT 125 MILES AND SEE NO WORK RESEMBLING THE IMA POSITION SENSOR.
BUTCH

*L* I don't know about honda's inquiry system but I can tell you that GM's starts at 0 miles always. There HAS to be history prior to 125 miles since the build plant and build date information should be in there (unless he is just saying no service history prior to 125 miles). If there was a previous owner they didn't have it very long since it was never registered... As for vilations of the privacy act that must be in a chapter I've never seen.... The only other way I can think this may happen is if you misread one of the digits on the VIN

Sorry we've been gone so long. Both my wife and I have been sick this week.

I'm not going to worry any further about history of the car. As long as it's not stolen, and I know it's not that, and will get us there, that will work. I'll maybe find out soon what the tech over at the dealership thinks will help.

Thanks again-

Also sorry for acting suspicious about anyone having info about the car. It was the shop foreman who went paranoid about it. It's now sounding a bit different when cold, so I need to have the exhaust system inspected. It's nearly time for that 15kmile ritual.

This is not professional advice. My thoughts:

1. The V6/hybrid may not be a real good design. Toyota used the four cylinder only.

2. Experts on other Honda sites have questioned the above design. Do not remember which.

3. I wonder about the tech saying "they have their quirks"

4. Buying a car is very emotional. My car has quirks I do not like. The throttle and brake is not gradual enough for me.

Interesting.

It's been doing lots better lately. Always seems to perk up when the tank gets down to half full. Overall, it's a good car, just may be some little something that needs tweaked a bit. I keep thinking back to that Sunday I was on the freeway, and got 'er up to 120, outran a Ford pickup, probably V-8, Hee!

I test drove a Honda Accord Hybrid 4 banger, and the vibration and sloppiness of the auto transmission turned me six kinds of "off". Tried the 6, and what a difference.

I used to have a car that did that, can't recall which one it was but I always remember thinking that it was odd... I don't know if it's a weight thing or vapors or whatever but it never bothered me that much.

Did you ever ask the tech about the SRI?

Howdy, sir_nasty. I guess more fuel, more weight.

Haven't talked to the guy. Last he said by email, the tech that was going to look all the info over was behind--had been out of town. I'll bug him again in a day or so. [sm=smokin.gif]

Well, here I am finally back after two illnesses.

The lousy shop foreman ran out on me. I called down there for another problem, and they told me he left in December. "Great" guy!

I am still very interested in seeing if an SRI would work on the car. I can't find anything out from the Honda dealership now, obviously, but I'm checking with another business in town that advertised on TV they do intake and exhaust work to improve performance. Their main draw is sellingtires. Hopefully,I'll get an emailback from their manager about whether one might work on the car or not.

Sure a lot of underwhelming interest in this thread. "wow".
