Sorry for the lame question. I wanted to know how come everytime I turn my a/c on my car over heats. I have a 97 accord ex 4cyl v tec engine.

Why do you think it overheats? Just because the fans turn on? They're supposed to run with the A/C regardless of temperature.

Does the dashboard temperature gauge rise very suddenly? How fast? Maybe electrical problems like an open ground are causing a faulty reading on the gauge. The engine is not capable of instantly changing temperature.
