I bought an aftermarket switch (Dorman 924-798) for my TSX and fixed the issues I had with my map lights. I believe this will work for your accord, but verify it fits before purchasing. I bought it 4 years ago and haven't had a problem since.
I'm pretty sure the issue was the lights wouldn't turn on when I opened the door.
