Hi everyone. bought a 2000 Accord EX V6..engine runs great ..transmission actually pretty good considering 250K..my problem is suspension..when i go over any bump..could be a pothole or a reflector on the road...the suspension feels loose...however the other night i replaced PS Cv axle and ball Joint...car was in the air for about 5 hrs...i know i suck..lol...but anyway on the drive home..car rode wonderful!..like a honda should./.then next morning..back to loose and clunky..seems everytime i have the front end off the ground for more than a couple hours all the bumps disappear ..until it sits on the ground awhile...im thinking springs...maybe radius rod bushings?..anybody got any ideas..thanks

 

Get the front tires off of the ground. Sounds like you have a lift. If not, put the front of the car on jack stands.

Turn the steering wheel until it locks. Grab each front tire at 3/9 o'clock and try to push/pull on the tire. There should be very little play. Also try the same at 12/6 o'clock positions on each front tire. If there is play, try to find what suspension component is loose.

 

Stabilizer bar (anti-sway) bushings can cause amazing amounts of noise, but generally don't cause steering feedback, at least in my experience. Also, the tie-rod ball jts, both inner and outer should be checked carefully.

Upper and lower ball jts should be inspected closely.

thanks for the suggestions guys...might be a mute point now though...A/T is slippin....this is my third honda accord i have owned ..the others were both 3G's....and it breaks my heart to see honda quality go downhill so much..i havent totally given up..i'll try and keep her limpin back and forth till i can afford a rebuild or M/T swap

 

turned out it was all the front motor mount!!!..threw everything out of line..had similiar issues with my 86lxi..for all u honda newbies..check all ur mounts..
