I have a 2000 model honda accord lx 2.3 liter vtec 4 cylinder, the car runs great but has one problem that I can not figure out. The car will not rev past 3000 rpm no matter what driving it or if it is idleing. If anyone could give me any idea's what it could be I would really appreciate it.

It could be the vehicle speed sensor. If its telling the computer that your going faster than you really are, then that will screw with it. Really need a little more info though. Any other problems???

Is your Check Engine Light on?

It probably is due to something else, not the vehicle speed sensor. The tachometer drive circuit receives pulses from the PCM or ECM. The solid-state tachometer then displays these pulses as engine speed. For each 200 pulses per minute from the PCM or ECM the tachometer displays 100 RPM.

The speedometer drive circuits receive pulses from the vehicle speed sensor; whereas, the tachometer receives pulses from the PCM or ECM.

Your first step should always be figuring out why the check engine light is on. Bring it to a autozone type place and they will read it for free. Make sure you get the actual code not just the employees description of what's wrong then report back to us.

I did do that and it came back that it was the camshaft position sensor but when i went to the honda dealer they said that model didn't have this sensor so I am not sure what to do.
