Question poor starting

my new honda accord ctdi estate is proving very hard to start in the morning.
the battery runs and runs, but will not start....jump it from the wifes car and it starts straight away, then it will start ok all day as long as you dont leave it more than 3 hours or so and then ur back to jump starting again
this morning , i just put the jump leads on, started wifes car, and then tried starting the accord and...it started 1st time..straight away..so i thought ..battery... took it to my garage who told me the battery was fine, with no problems.. anybody any ideas..
many thanks .. kev

If giving it a boost makes it start like it should, try what you did a few more days, then I would want to verify that all of the battery connections are clean and tight.....the boost/added power is overcoming the poor connection.

If those are good, the battery is next on the list....yes the shop said it was good but that was - I'm guessing - after the car had been running for a while, letting the alt change the battery - could be a drain on the it or just one that won't hold a charge. If you were in the "US" where parts stores test batteries for free, I tell you to pull it one morning without trying to start it and have it tested "cold"/after it had sat for four or so hours.
