Default Popping noise while braking???

I bought a 97 Accord LX 2 weeks ago which is lowered (on Sprint springs) and has 17 inch rims. These are the only changes to the suspension. It is now making a popping noise (in the front) whenever I apply the brakes. The popping seems to be at the same speed as the tires. I have checked the CV boots and nothing is ripped. I also made sure that the brake rotors and calipers were all tightened down. I can't think of anything else that would make a (kind of rubbery) popping sound. Please help...and I hope I was discriptive enough.

Swap tires to the back to rule out anything there. Separating belts?

Check whether the brake pads are wedged tight in the caliper bracket. They might pop as the rotors force them to move around.

It could be that lowering and oversize tires has brought some part of wheel well liner close enough to tire that when you brake the "kneeling" of the front end brings the liner and wheel into contact. Check wheel liner carefully for any worn locations.

good luck
