Possible tranny problem?
Hi Everyone
I have a 99 Accord EX-4cyl Vtec Auto with 120K.
The tranny seems to shift well but when the car is in neutrel or park, there is a hollow, somewhat louder noise at the tranny side of engine.Fluid is clean and topped.
Is this a sign the tranny is on the way out?
Thanks
Mark

RE: Possible tranny problem?
look for fluid seepage at the axles seals of the differential.
WhenI was an auction buyer I would let the car idle along in gear and verylightly step on and off the gas listening for a differential growl/noise.
