'01 Accord. Doesn't have the cigaretter lighter but has the power adapter down on the console above the shifter. When I plug anything into it, cell phone charger, ipod charger, etc., the item lights up like it is working but it doesn't charge the device and my iPod will get really hot when it is plugged in. Couple of questions....

I am thinking it needs to be replaced. Anyone else agree disagree?

How do I pull this to replace it? Do I have to remove the console or does it come out without all of that? I don't want to spend 20 bucks on a manual just to figure out how to remove the power plug.
