Default Power Steering Leak

We have a 2008 Accord EX-L with the 190-hp engine. It leaks power steering fluid on a constant basis, to the point that every 2 weeks, the reservoir is at half. I took it to the dealer's service department to get it looked it and they advise that its leaking from the rack and pinion. They also advised that is would cost apprx. $1200 for fix.

Being that we have a 7mo old, we dont really have that much money laying around :-) so my question is, is this is must fix issue or will it be ok to just continue filling the reservoir every coupe weeks for a while.

It's OK to keep filling the reservoir but don't let it get below the MIN mark.

I've had good luck with Lucas power steering stop leak. It completely stopped a much smaller rack leak than yours. Have been using Autozone's brand of PS fluid labeled for use in Hondas with good luck too.

Agree that Lucas PS Seal fluiid is worth a try. My father fixed a Toyota Avalon Rack w/ this.

Try O'Rielly's MasterPro PS fluid. $5.50/qt is a bargain and it's Honda/Acura compatible. I've used w/o problems.

good luck

Son has '86 prelude that has been on life support for 4 years.
He checks PS fluid reservoir every month and adds. Prior owner did same.
