Default Rattle at 1900 rpm

My car runs fine, but when it gets to 1900 rpm it makes a rattling noise much like a buzz. It isn't the transmission because it does it when it is neutral. Has any one had any similar problems?

(It's an 86 Accord LXI)

I would have to agree with Chio.. chk the exh system for loose shields and also chk the center exh pipe , i have seen a lot of them come apart internally and rattle

Mysignificant otherhasa 2001 Accord. Last week she said there was a sudden loud rattling noiseunder the car whiledriving. The noisestoppedabruptly and at the samemoment she saw "something" drop onto the road in the rear-view mirror. Because of traffic she could not stop to see what it was.My guess is a heat shield... probably the same thing that is buzzing in your '86 LXI.

1) Heat Shield
2) Mid pipe
3) cat internals
3) muffler internals

You should be able to locate the noise by having a buddy sit in the car and hold the pedal to the rpm where the noise made.
