i was thinking of getting a remote start alarm.. and i heard that there is a chip or something in the original keys.. and that theyre going to have to leave the keys in the ignition for it to work.. is this true?

no there is another product that you will have to buy that will deactivate that when you use the remote start.

yes youshould need an extra key, just go to honda and get a key blank do not have them cut the key. Just make sure you get the right key you should see a stamp on the metal part of the key close to the plastic, that is the resistor freq.

*edit*
and if you feel like doing it yourself here is a link to a wiring diagram for your car

Lightshow... Accords began having immobilizers in '98. That's indicated by a green lamp in the cluster, shaped like a key.
