This is the device that stops the door from opening too far. The plastic is coming off and it looks like the whole unit should be replaced. It looks like it is held in place at the door with 2 nuts and at the pivot point on door frame. If I disconnect does the unit fit out of opening in door? Or do I have to remove door panel.

 

I have an 06 accord and the door checker recently broke on the drivers door as well. I was wondering if you got this fixed? Was it an easy repair? The plastic broke completely off mine and has been shaking around in the bottom of the door for a few weeks now.

 

I'll try to remember to look that up in my Helm book. Meantime I'll move this to General Tech since that's a better place for it.
