Default Replaced brake light switch and now cruise control doesn't work

I have a 2002 and I had to replace my brake light switch. I made sure the brake light switch I purchased was the one with cruise control. After I installed the new switch, I noticed the green light to the cruise control button always stayed lit even when the button was not pressed in. I didn't think nothing of it until I attempted to use the cruise control. The cruise control worked for about 2 minutes and then it stopped and I began slowing down. I kept resetting the cruise control and it would only work for a short period and then stop. It finally got to the point that I couldn't even set the cruise control. Any suggestions of what I might need to try and do to correct this?? Thanks

I have never had to test my cruise control. What I would suggest is to download the 98-02 shop manual from the spooner link in the Online Manuals thread in the DIY section. You will have to burn the .iso file to a CD for it to work.

This manual covers 98-02 accords that are not built in the USA, so the wiring diagram and tests may not be identical to your car. It should be similar.

ou may want to check how you routed the electrical connector to that switch. You may have pinched some wires.

To isolate the problem, you may have to start testing using a volt meter.

i would suggest as redbull advised ,,... at brake switch make sure that the plunger is ALL the way in when brakes are not applied (pedal at the top position) ,,might have to turn in the switch a bit more
