Thanks PM, I have been driving the car and so far so good, but again last time inner tie rod came loose after nearly 8 months

I am NOT sure about 'Diameter' since it's different for 1996 and 1992 accords, but all thread size look the same.

Please see attached pict for 1992 accord, pict you posted and this one has same thread size. What you say and advice?

Any feedback or update PM? Were you able to find the spec?

No I have not even thought about it any more. Since there isn't really an issue I just moved on.

If I remember, I'll e-mail a supplier tomorrow and see if one of their tech guys will send me the spec's. My Guess, overall length which the outer tie rod can make up for.

Alright guys, one last question.

After replacing rack and pinion, I did not replace the gasket(Reused the existing one) between the cat converter and small piece which has O2 sensor.

If I put my hands on the muffler, can feel there is a lot of exhaust gases pressure and do NOT see a big leak from that Cat/O2 area either.

Question, can I continue driving it like this or will I be having any problems? Since I didn't replace Gasket/seal.

You might be ok.

Let the car cool down - overnight. Start it up and feel around the area of the gasket. Do you feel any air/exhaust?

I have re-used gaskets before without any issues.

As always, thanks PM

Yes, I do feel air/exhaust in the area, but if I put my hands on the muffler, can feel a lot of exhaust pressure too, it's NOT like nothing is coming out of muffler.

In this situation, will car be able to pass emission and if I continue to drive like this, am I causing any problems for cat converter/O2 sensor?

I don't know about emmissions testing & rules where you live, but it MIGHT(?) cause problems for the O2 sensor.

The O2 sensor actually measures oxygen DIFFERENCE inside vs. outside. So if there's any exhaust blowing onto the outside of the sensor, that will throw off the measurement.

But still, taking apart that one joint & installing a new gasket is a lot easier now, when there's very few hours of operation (heat, corrosion, etc). Or maybe you just need to tighten it a bit after it's had 1 or 2 hot/cold cycles.
