Default rev problem

Hi Guys I am in need of some serious help. My 96 honda accord with a 4cyl 2.2 AT is doing some serious erratic revving. I have recently changed the idle air control valve and now the car "hunts" or idles erratically when I take my foot off the gas to slow down, especially when I am moving at a slow speed, between 30 mph and down. i am not sure how to proceed. Any suggestions out there? Oh, and I'm not that good of a mechanic, so dumb it down for me, ok?

Did you remove, clean and adjust the FITV when you did the IACV?

No I did not. I dont even know what a FITV is, but I also know that this problem started when my VSS (vehicle speed sensor) tripped AGAIN.

I just looked at that thread & the picture links are broken.
Here's a picture of your throttle body. The FITV (fast-idle valve) is #14.

Clean it and/or remove the end plate & clean in there too. Tightening the plunger is also inside of that end-plate.

Also look for a thread by me about setting your "BASE idle". Do that stuff too.

pnutt- if you replaced the FITV, then you had to remove some coolant hoses....be sure that you bleed the coolant system....air in the coolant can/will cause the same issues......just my 2 cents .
