Default Revenge of the 92 Transmission Shift

Hello
Long time no see.

I had a shop drain and fill (may have flushed) the transmission on the 92 Accord EX. It was shifting terribly and roughly. It shifted properly for two days after I got it from the shop. I noticed that when I put in some transmission "shift fixing" fluid the transmission shifted smoothly for a day. This past month the shift issue has been worse.

Do I just need to do repeated flushes and fills to eliminate sludgeor has the transmission had better days? It is the replacement for the original tranny.

Other than the tranny I am very satisfied with the car. The other issues (rotors, leak in window, worn speakers, leaky valve cvr gasket) are user solvable

Is your D4 light or S light flashing at all?

You can try repeated flushes to clear as much crap out of the transmission as possible. Look for metalic shavings when you drain the tranny fluid. The plug might be magnetic, so check that out too.

There are screens on the shift and lockup solenoids that can get clogged up along with the solenoid itself. It might be worthwhile to clean them with throttle body cleaner.
