Default Rotor problems

So I have warped rotors again. I replaced them about two years ago, and the problem came back.

I will go to Honda Service Dept to see if they can resurface.

My question is vary open-ended and has two parts (if I have to replace the rotors):

1.) O'Reillys suggested their Wagner rotors that are heat cured, to prevent warping. Is this worth the extra $20 (plus a life long warantee?).

2.) What brake pads will help preserve the rotors? I have heard two arguements.
a. Use the softest pads possible. Pads are easier to replace vs. rotors on these cars. (and its definitely true on the PIA models of Accords, hub over the rotor!)
b. Use ceramic pads, because they do not generate as heat when braking. The less heat, the less chance water will splash on the rotors, hence the less chance of rotor warpage.

Any opinions?

What type of rotors do you have on your car now? Are they from honda or some other place? I have heard many people say to stick with factory rotors for the front. That's what I have and no issues yet.

definatelly use Honda factory pads if you can afford it use HONDA rotors if not get a set of Brembo .

what kind of driving habit do you have ?? race from stop lite to stop lite and brake hard ??

The replacements were Brembo rotors. My driving habbits are pretty mild. I usually work through my gears downshifting when I come to a stop. I don't usually abuse the car when I drive it, and I don't auto cross it. I don't go through brake pads quickly either. Maybe every 3-4 years.

I had a similar problem with my 94 accord. Went through 2 sets of rotors (car-x brand) and pads (raybestos) in about 15k miles. We put the car-x rotors on and honda pads, and they lasted me over 100k (lots and lots of highway).

as far as pad options go: Ceramic pads require a certain temperature before they will even start to grab very well... So ceramic are built for harder braking and higher temps... Brembo rotors don't have a warranty on them that will cover what happened? I'd say stick with stock honda stuff...

go with the honda pads and rotors if you can. on the tech note, you will warp your rotors as you drive no matter how you drive. that's why it's a good idea and highly recomended to resurface your rotors every time you change your front pads. if you don't recurface rotors you will get pulsation in your steering wheel and brake pedal, you'll have less stopping power and there's a chance of losing control. warp happens from heat, but usually is recovered by resurfacing.
