Default Rust precentative Primer POR 15??

Yestderday I sanded some rusty spots on my sheetmetal and was trying to find some guidance for a primer before I put on my top coats. Some of the rust spots are in crevices that I cant get to sand (around rear window) so I was looking for a rust preventative paint to put on those spots. Some in my office recommended POR 15. Has anyone heard of this paint? I can only find it online and it is a bit pricey. Any other ideas? Can I use rust-oleum instead?

My son and I applied POR 15 on his truck underbody w/ good results under very tough operating conditions; salt spray from traveling back sand dunes on Padre Island where you run through tidal pools occasionally. Nothing works perfectly under these conditions, but it does provide some protection.

It is an absolute mess to apply and full body gear is required to avoid waiting 3-4 days for the stuff to wear off (guess how I know?). No solvent that I found (mineral spirits, laquer thinner, DMSO, nail polish remover, etc) would remove the stuff once dry on your hands and it dries fast. I had to go to work w/ my hands looking like I had just changed manually greased my car.

good luck
