Rust spot - worth it?

Rust spot - worth it?
So, I bought a 1995 Honda Accord LX from a guy in my neighborhood. His wife was the original owner and the car has 74K miles. Overall the car is in really nice condition...a couple of minor things. I think it needs a new muffler and the headliner is loose. The real issue I suppose is that the quarter panel has a rust spot about 3 inches in diameter. It isn't a huge deal, but I bought the car for my daughter to drive to college, work, etc. I guess my question is have any of you guys had rust work done? Any idea on a rough estimate I could expect to pay? I am taking it in for an estimate on Monday. I just wonder if it is worth it to have it fixed. I mean the car is darn near perfect and fixing the rust would really make it an impressive old car. I paid right at $2K for the car as I figured it has a good 150K miles left in it. Would it be worthwhile to drop say $1000 into a $2000 car?
Thanks!
Thanks!

fix the rust
If the rest of the car is in great shape I would shop around for the best price to fix it. These cars are easily good for over 500,000 km so if the body can be kept in good shape, it should last many years. You could also think about a yearly or bi-yearly oil spray which I found to be quite effective against rust, and mud flaps to protect the panels a bit.
