Wink Shifty Dealership?

Hey, I have a 2004 Honda Accord, EX, VTEC with only 65,000 miles on it. Last Saturday I had taken the car for a routine starter replacement under the warranty. While it was there, they claim that the power steering pump needed replaced also. We allowed them do to the warranty. Now they call back and say that HONDA recommends a NEW timing Belt every 60K miles for cars in Arizona. We reluctantly agreed to let them do it. NOW, the car is in the shop again with what they say is a rear main seal leak???? How is this possible since the cars has NEVER has an oil leak prior to their work? Please help, the want 1200.00 to fix.

I hope this is a V-6, because the 2004 4-cyl doesn't have a timing belt.
So it had no hint of an oil leak before you took it in to them??

Yes! This is a V6. The car is a cream puff that my wife has driven very well and she drives to and from work. Literally the undercarage is spotless. It seems far fetched for this car to have such a problem?

Your owners manual should have the mileage to change the timing belt in normal and severe conditions.

Why did you take the car back in? Was there a problem? Are you noticing oil loss on the dip stick?
