spark plug gapping inquiry
I recently replaced my plugs as well, my old ones were iridium( must have been on sale) I used the factory recommended NGK spark plugs gapped at .045,,,spec is .044,,, It runs great, last set of plugs have been in there for at least 5 yrs, good luck on the drain plug. Keep us informed on your progress.

I'll post back here about it when I finally get my a** out there and try screwing the sucker in.
Glad you remembered Ralph and the Corvair. He was wrong about the Corvair. '60-64 only. '65 and newer got a sports car suspension. They were the best handling cars with a back seat in that era. Real concerns are no shoulder belt and a solid steering column with the steering box just behind the bumper.
Update: I was successful getting the new plug threaded in and got it screwed in and tightened securely., so of course am relieved and happy about that. It's in a dark and difficult-to-access location working underneath the car with limited space, with the CV axle right in the way below (for your arms/hands to get close) and the water pump connecting pipe pretty much blocking the ability to be able to get the plug centered by feel with your hand/fingers to start the threading. I think I more or less just got lucky and was able to manage it after struggling for a good while.
