I put the wires back in the connector and drove it still it don't work and I get a code of P0501. Vehicle speed sensor A range/performance how would I trouble shoot that and what dose that mean. I replaced the VSS and i test the black wire and the orange wire and it has around 5 volts. The yellow wire and black wire have around 12 volts. When i block one wheel and turn the other the volts don't pulse on the orange wire. I ran a new wire from the dashboard to the vss to replace the orange wire. I switched out gauges on the dashboard and the same thing. Any ideas whats next. I don't know if its related but when driving the car sometimes revs high like its don't know when to shift. I don't know if its because the speed is not being displayed. also the drive shaft in side the vss doesn't spin when i turn the wheel how would i fix this. I think it may be the root of the problem.

Recheck the "pin" between the vss and the trans.

Was this happening before the engine swap?
