Speed Sensor??
Hey guys,
I recently upgraded to an OBX Exhaust and had all piping replaced up to the cat. Everything was fine until Saturday night when I was at a red light and the little light that surrounds the "D4" on the dash started blinking and my Speedometer started going haywire. I was stopped at the light and the needle was bouncing like crazy from 0 to 70 and back down.
My car drives fine, no lights are dimming, but the Check Engine Light came on. I continue to drive but I cannot tell what speed I am traveling, nor do my miles work so I cannot tell an accurate count on miles.
I believe it may be the Output Speed Sensor on the transmission, but I do need some advice on what to do.
I work for a Repo company/City Marshal and there are many cars that go to auction if not redeemed. There is another 94 Accord in the lot going to auction and I wanted to know if I should swap that sensor with mine.
I called Honda direct and they want $115 for a new sensor, but if I can get this one for free (does it matter if its used?) would that be ok as well.
Please help guys. I need to know by tomorrow because that other car is going to be sold on Thursday!!
Thanks for your help

That D4 light flashing means the transmission computer detected a problem and stored a code. You need to find that code before you start throwing parts at it.
In the DIY section, there is a thread called How to check CEL codes. Do that procedure, but also count the D4 light flashes to get transmission computer codes. Post any codes found from the check engine light (it will stay on solid if no codes are present) and the D4 light.

Well, it's just a continued flashing. It never stops, and after about 10 minutes of driving, the engine light comes on.
I'll check out the DIY section.
Thank you for the quick response
