SRS Indicagtor is ON

It could be cheap or expensive depending on what problem the SRS system detected. A bad SRS unit will be expensive, a faulty seat belt buckle won't be too bad.
A scanner will retrieve the code. I am not sure if the autozone scanners will get the code, but it is worth a shot. They scan the codes for free. Post any code on here, it will start with the letter P and have four numbers. i.e. P1234.

SRS Indicator
Will it fail inspection (New York) with the indicator light on?
Here's a Youtube video that shows how to reset the SRS indicator light:

Any info appreciated for my 2003 EX 4 cyl with 231,000 miles. Thanks

There is a recall on the OPDS (occupant position detection system)10 year
157k Miles.
Service Bulletin 06-009.
There are also issues with the seatbelt buckle that should be covered under warranty.

I recently purchased a 2000 accord with the SRS light on. Didn't think it would be a big deal, but wife's not too happy.
Will a regular OBD tool tell me the source of the light? Is there a way to determine if it is in fact the opds sensor? I don't want to get dinged with the "diagnostic fee" at the stealership. Thanks.

It is worth a trip to a parts store like autozone to see if their scanner can read the codes. If you have your own scanner, it is worth trying.
If you get any error codes or the scanner can't get them, post that information on here, so others will know what to do.

All I got was a P1298 code which I believe is unrelated. I guess resetting the SRS with the above procedure couldn't hurt. Otherwise I guess I'm out of luck.
If I do take it to the dealer, is there any way I can get them to prove to me what they gathered with their diagnostic tool? What's to keep them from telling me it's something that's not under warranty when it actually is? Yea, I've got trust issues, especially when dealing with thieves. After all, it's a lot easier for them to get their money from me than from Honda.
